Security
DNA can be damaged by external energy such as radiation as well as internal mutagens. Replication, transcribing and repair/recombination [executing in place DNA sections] are all susceptible to errors.
EDAC
Error Detect and Correction in the form of striping data across RAID drives is utilized here.

RAID
RAID disk technology is used to protect data by striping data across multiple drives and adding a parity drive. If any one of the disks goes bad the data can be recovered. If 3 disks go bad the data will be lost.
Human RAID setup
2 sets of Virtual RAIDs, one for each parents chromosome
Max :: 2 sets of 21 chromosomes with parity block, minus sex chromosome
Min :: 2 sets of 2 chromosome with parity block
Data access: The dominant parents gene is read first
- upon successful retrieval it is used
- upon failure the sub-dominant gene is read
Virtual number of Chromosome drives used
| Gene Size Type | Interleaved/Split across variable # of chromosomes |
| complex long segment | All 21 + parity |
| simple short segment | 2 … 20 + parity |

Gamete
EDAC is applied at the creation of the sperm and egg sex cells. EDAC is applied at the conception when the sperm and egg sex combine and as the cell is functionally accessing DNA to replicate, transcribe and synthesize proteins, repair and execute in place instructions.
