In the beginning and forever God is the all powerful creator who has no equal, no rival, and no ego. God is humble.
- To share in his kindness and glory he creates and guides an intelligence made in his image, man
- God gives man free will
- God chooses the Jewish nation and the decendants of Abraham to be his chosen people
- God’s chosen people run hot and cold
- At times believing in their creator and at other times believing in pagan worship
- God is patient and sends prophets inspired directly to preach the goodness and behavior that God expects of his people
- During the times of extreme pagan worship and debachery God regrets and extinguishes pagan life
- Mankind’s continued violation of God’s purpose results in sending Jesus Christ to Earth as a visible man to preach among man
- living a perfect life illustrating his purpose
- to confirm the old testaments true teachings
- to provide Jesus Christ as the bridge for man to God’s grace
- God has asked his only Son to
- shed his blood as the ultimate sacrifice for all mankind to build this bridge
- Jesus accepts God’s will knowing the physical and mental pain of the task
- after the last supper Jesus asks God 3 times if there is any other way to attain his goal
- God is silent indicating his original request has NOT been changed
God’s ultimate sacrifice of his only Son is
- analogized in the story of Abraham and Isaac
- who but the one true omnipotent God
- would exercise humility by sending his only Son
- to serve his purpose by Jesus becoming “lower than the angels”
- that humility is God’s ultimate gift to man as it results in God’s grace and the path to eternal life w/God
- would exercise humility by sending his only Son
